  • Self-Assessment Tax Returns - for individuals and small businesses.

    You provide us with the information (which might be in the form of a bag of receipts!), and we will turn this into a Self Assessment submission!
  • VAT Returns (MTD Compliant!)

    Since April 2019 most VAT registered businesses are required to submit VAT returns in an Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliant format. We use Quickbooks Online or Sage to prepare your information and submit it to HMRC in the approved format.
  • PAYE and Payroll

    We can provide weekly or monthly payroll services, including all aspects of managing and recording sick leave, annual leave, pension auto enrolment etc.
  • Sales and Invoice Recording

    Whatever the size of your small business, you will have records for sales and expenses! We use Excel, Quickbooks Online or Sage to analyse and record these for you. Whether you have a neat file of paperwork, or a bag of receipts, we can sort these out for you! If you don't yet have bookkkeping software we can help advise on this, and may be able to provide licensed copies at discounted rates!.
  • Bank Reconciliations

    An important part of bookkeeping is regular bank reconciliations, to ensure that all payments made and received have been correctly recorded. We routinely carry these out for all clients as part of day-to-day bookkeeping, and are also happy to help and advise on how best to record and keep track of petty cash and cash till transactions.
  • Management Reports

    We will provide all small businesses with management reports on a regular basis. As a minimum this would be monthly Profit & Loss statements, but we will work with you to provide the reports you need for the day-to-day running of your business in a format and frequency which works best for you.
  • Liaison with Accountants

    For some small-medium sized businesses (particularly limited companies), it may be appropriate to employ an accountant as well as a bookkeeper. This is very normal practice, and we would prepare your books in a cost-effective way which makes it easy and straightforward for your Accountant to produce financial statements for your business each year.
  • General Office Administration

    We can help with other general office administration tasks as required. Examples might include support with social media and website administration or producing forms and spreadsheets for particular tasks.

After 16 years running her own very successful retail business, Isla has transitioned to Bookkeeping in recent years. However, her extensive and hands-on experience means that she has a true understanding of the challenges and difficulties experienced by small businesses. Isla also has significant experience with registered charities, voluntary and community organisations, and has carried out a variety of senior roles in such organisations over many years.

Isla also holds a BSc (Hons, 1st Class) in Computer Science and has experience working in a variety of client-facing consultancy roles for major organisations. Although no longer working in IT consultancy, Isla remains highly IT literate and is happy to provide help and support in this area (e.g. website and social media administration).
